Pathway to Specialisations

This course is a foundation degree that provides entry to three specialisation degrees offered by Holmesglen:

• Bachelor of Building Surveying*
• Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics**
• Bachelor of Facilities Management

Upon successful completion of the foundation degree and any of the 1-year specialisation degrees above, you will be awarded two qualifications.

Skills You'll Gain

You'll gain an understanding of the structure and processes of the building industry, and learn how to:

• Efficiently and effectively manage construction and development projects
• Maintain and refurbish commercial and heritage buildings
• Minimise health and safety risks in construction projects
• Manage multiple projects concurrently
• Communicate effectively with various stakeholders
• Develop strategies to minimise and successfully resolve disputes

You'll also gain a thorough understanding of macroeconomic and microeconomic concepts relating to the construction industry, as well as the relevant laws that apply.

Problem-based learning is utilised throughout the program, enabling you to gain practical knowledge and skills.

Flexible Study through SEEK Learning

Holmesglen offers building and construction courses online in partnership with SEEK Learning, This partnership enables you to fit your learning around your life, so you study when and where you want, and graduate with the exact same qualification gained on-campus.

This building course is offered both full-time and part-time. With full-time study, you can complete this course in two years (six trimesters) by studying 40 hours a week per trimester. With part-time study, you have a maximum of six years to complete this course.
