Skills You'll Gain

This qualification is designed for those who want to coordinate the construction of a building and take responsibility for the overall completion of the job, including selecting contractors, overseeing the work and its quality, and liaising with the client.

Among other things, you'll learn how to:

• Access, interpret and apply relevant building codes and standards applicable to construction processes
• Select and prepare appropriate construction contracts
• Evaluate contract specifications and information, and prepare tender documents
• Establish the estimated costs of acquiring materials and labour on building and construction sites
• Ensure contracts or projects remain on budget
• Identify hazards and assess and control occupational health and safety (OHS) risks
• Determine, monitor and control project risks
