The Bachelor of Arts (Art) allows students to explore some of the major influences on contemporary art practices and benefit from both practical and theoretical studies in Art. Innovative Internet technologies are used to learn about digital imaging and electronic art and in turn provide a means for students and tutors to exchange ideas and skills. This arts degree is an essential platform for the professional training of today's artists.


What You Will Learn with the Bachelor of Arts (Art)

The degree incorporates a study of visual culture, practical work and visual research:

  • Visual Culture examines theoretical, historical and contextual knowledge in Contemporary Art, Australian Art, History, Revolution, Modernism, Environment, Fashion, Aboriginal Art and Popular Culture
  • Studio/Practical Work Printmaking, Sculpture, Clay and Glass, Painting, Textiles & Jewellery design students are then given a choice to specialise in either painting or sculpture
  • Visual Research focuses on building technical and conceptual skills to support the practical work undertaken by each student
