Folklife, also commonly known as folklore, involves the study of informal culture in all its forms, be it verbal, non-verbal, behavioural or material.

This folklife course draws on programs and research conducted by Curtin University's Australian Centre. It focuses on understanding how informal cultures relate to a wide variety of social, cultural, organisational and human needs.

It's particularly useful for those who want to understand the fundamentals of the human condition, or those interested in a career in human services, heritage studies, organisational behaviour, human resources, tourism, museology, cultural planning, librarianship or teaching.
