Who Is This Course For?

The Bachelor of Applied Science is designed for students who wish to pursue careers in biological sciences and to provide a biology specialisation for intending teachers.

Drawing on core science areas such as genetics, biological chemistry and microbiology, this applied science degree course covers the areas of ecology, ecotoxicology, marine biology and aquaculture, environmental biotechnology diagnostics and molecular agriculture.

Due to the specialist nature of this degree, students are required to complete practical and laboratory classes at RMIT University in Melbourne. Contact a SEEK Learning consultant for more information.


What Will I Learn?

Students will gain the necessary ecological skills to deal with complex systems while using modern biotechnological techniques.

Students will develop core knowledge and techniques in plant and animal identification along with molecular biology, genetics, biological chemistry and microbiology.

In the final level of this degree, students can choose to specialise in either bioscience or biotechnology.
