Develop the skills necessary to assist those in the community such as the elderly and disabled in maintaining their independence with a Certificate IV in Home and Community care qualification.
This course will give you the skills you need to work with clients in homes and other community settings. You will gain the knowledge and training to provide personal care, develop an understanding of the needs of the elderly and disabled, maintain essential health records, and comply with policies and procedures necessary with at-home care.
The theory of this course will be balanced with extensive practical experience. You'll be required to complete 160 hours of work placement and gain valuable on the job experience to help you hit the ground running in the workplace upon graduation.
This course is delivered entirely online so you can tailor your studies to suit your needs.

To gain entry into this course a candidate must be recognised as competent, through a recognised training program or recognition process, against the following compulsory units from Certificate III in Home and Community Care (or equivalent):

You will need to undertake a 160 hours of work placement to complete this course.
The facility that you select should have access to an assessor with a TAE40104 - Certificate in Training & Assessment (TAE10) qualification and the assessor needs to be approved by your OTEN teacher prior to commencement of the work placement.
Students may be required to undergo a criminal record check prior to commencing work placements.
