The Certificate IV in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is a nationally recognised qualification that is ideal for those who want a career in teaching English as a second language (ESL) in Australia. Use your qualification to become a private tutor or start your own company providing tuition to international students.
Please note that a degree or diploma in education or teaching experience is usually required to teach English to speakers of other languages in Australia.
This course is self-paced and includes the standard 60-hour TESOL course. It takes approximately 29 weeks to complete, at 20 hours of study per week. You can complete it earlier by increasing the amount of study time per week.

For the in-class option, courses run monthly in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and regularly in other capital cities and regional centres including Perth, Adelaide and the Sunshine Coast.

This TESOL course will teach you techniques and ideas to keep your classes alive, fun and effective. You'll learn how to interact with students and keep their interest, and how to be comfortable as a teacher.

This course includes an optional 5-day in-class orientation course which familiarises you with the content and context of TESOL. While not compulsory, attendance is highly recommended as it provides a great opportunity for you to learn essential TESOL components from a highly qualified and experienced TESOL trainer.
Upon completion of this course, you'll gain a nationally accredited and internationally recognised TESOL qualification to teach English as a Second Language (ESL).
