Prerequisites

  • Certificate IV in Fitness (SIS40215), and
  • 12 months industry experience

If you pay for the course using a VET FEE-HELP government loan, you need to:

  • provide a Year 12 Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (from an Australian agency), OR
  • successfully complete a Language Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) test.

  1. SISFFIT523A - Deliver prescribed exercise to clients with cardiorespiratory conditions


    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to deliver prescribed exercise programs to stable clients with cardiorespiratory conditions, in collaboration with medical or allied health professionals.

  2. SISFFIT524A - Deliver prescribed exercise to clients with metabolic conditions


    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to deliver prescribed exercise programs to stable clients with metabolic conditions, in collaboration with medical or allied health professionals.

  3. SISFFIT525A - Advise on injury prevention & management


    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to provide information to fitness clients about exercise related injuries, their prevention and management.

  4. SISFFIT526A - Deliver prescribed exercise to clients with musculoskeletal conditions


    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge to deliver prescribed exercise programs to stable clients with musculoskeletal conditions, in collaboration with medical or allied health professionals.

  5. SISFFIT527A - Undertake health promotion activities to decrease risk factors & prevent chronic disease


    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan and deliver exercise to promote general health and well-being, and decrease risk factors and chronic disease. The unit outlines appropriate exercise levels within the context of public health recommendations on physical activity.

  6. SISFFIT528A - Apply research findings to exercise management strategies


    This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to source and evaluate evidence based research information and apply findings to the prescription of exercise management strategies. These strategies support the long and short term goals of clients with various identified medical conditions or musculoskeletal needs.

  7. SISXCCS404A - Address client needs


    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage ongoing and sometimes complex relationships with clients. The unit focuses on exploring which possible outcomes will best promote client satisfaction. The unit requires the learner to be familiar with service-provision options that can be negotiated with the client and customised to meet the client’s needs.

  8. SISXOHS402A - Implement & monitor occupational health and safety policies


    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to implement Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies, procedures and programs within the context of an established organisational OHS system.

  9. SISXRSK502A - Manage organisational risks


    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to develop, implement and evaluate a risk-management program for an organisation. It incorporates an assessment of potential risks facing the organisation and the development of strategies and procedures to mitigate risk situations according to the current Australian and New Zealand Standard.

  10. BSBSMB405 - Monitor & manage small business operations


    This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to implement a business plan and modify operations as required. It applies to individuals who operate a small business which stands alone, or is part of a department within a larger organisation. Individuals in this role are skilful communicators and interpret numerical data with ease.

  11. BSBSMB406 - Manage small business finances


    This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to implement and review financial management strategies on a regular basis. It applies to individuals who operate a small business that stands alone, or is part of a department within a larger organisation. Individuals in this role are skilful communicators and interpret financial reports and other numerical data with ease.

  12. SISXIND405A - Conduct projects


    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to prepare for and conduct projects in specific activity areas. It also involves undertaking contingency planning to enable the achievement of project outcomes.

  13. HLTAID006 - Provide advanced first aid*


    This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. 

    * Please note that this unit needs to be completed with an external provider.

* First aid requirement:
This course requires you to complete a first aid course. You will need to organise to complete this training through an RTO such as St Johns Ambulance or Australian Red Cross.

  • The team of Student Support Officers are dedicated to helping you graduate and will help you find a solution to any hurdles you’re facing.
  • You will receive a Study Plan that shows how long each unit will take to complete – a great tool to help you stay on track and plan your breaks from study.
