  1. BSBSMB401 - Establish legal & risk management requirements of small business


    This unit involves identifying and complying with business legal and administrative requirements. As with all other units in the course, it is suitable for setting up or existing micro and small businesses or a department in a larger organisation.

  2. BSBSMB402 - Plan small business finances


    This unit involves the development of a financial plan to support business viability. It is suitable for setting up or existing micro and small businesses or a department in a larger organisation.

  3. BSBSBM403 - Market the small business


    This unit covers the development and implementation of marketing strategies and the monitoring and improvement of market performance. It is suitable for setting up or existing micro and small businesses or a department in a larger organisation.

  4. BSBSMB401 - Undertake small business planning


    This unit covers the research and development of an integrated business plan for achieving business goals and objectives. It is suitable for setting up or existing micro and small businesses or a department in a larger organisation.

  5. BSBRES401 - Analyse & present research information


    This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to gather, organise, analyse and present workplace information using available systems. This includes identifying research requirements and sources of information, applying information to a set of facts, evaluating the quality of the information, and preparing and producing reports.

    It applies to individuals who are required to apply their broad knowledge of the work environment to analysis and research tasks, evaluate information from a variety of sources and apply solutions to a range of unpredictable problems.

  6. BSBSMB407 - Manage a small team


    On the completion of this unit of competency you should be able to develop a plan for the staffing and management of a small team which deals with the selection of staff, induction, training and development, managing industrial relation issues, and keeping staff records.

  7. BSBCUS401 - Coordinate implementation of customer service strategies


    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to advise on, carry out and evaluate customer service strategies, including the design of improvement strategies based on feedback. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of endorsement.

  8. BSBWHS401 - Implement & monitor WHS policies, procedures & programs to meet legislative requirements


    On successful completion of this unit you should be able to implement and monitor an organisation’s WHS policies, procedures and programs.

    Specifically, you should be able to:

    • Provide information to the work group about Work Health & Safety policies & procedures
    • Implement & monitor participative arrangements for the management of Work Health & Safety
    • Implement & monitor the organisation's procedures for providing Work Health & Safety training
    • Implement & monitor procedures for identifying hazards & assessing risks
    • Implement & monitor the organisation's procedures for controlling risks
    • Implement & monitor the organisation's procedures for maintaining Work Health & Safety records for the team
  9. BSBSUS401 - Implement & monitor environmentally sustainable work practices


    On successful completion of this unit you will be able to analyse the workplace in relation to environmentally sustainable work practices and to implement improvements and monitor their effectiveness.

  10. BSBEBU401 - Review & maintain a website


    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to undertake data analysis, review website content and update and maintain a website.

    Specifically, you will be able to:

    • Review website content & use
    • Update website
    • Carry out non-technical site maintenance
