How courses are delivered

TESOL College’s courses are flexible. You can complete your entire course online, or complete the foundation component in a classroom and study the remainder of the course online.

You can start when you wish, and complete the course in the timeframe that works for you.

Support from instructors

TESOL instructors are available to help you with any issues relating to TESOL as you study.

You can also use the online student centre to get help with assignments.

Orientation course

If you study the Advanced TESOL Diploma or Certificate IV in TESOL (10557NAT), you can choose to do a five-day orientation course in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, SA or WA.

The course is a great introduction to the principles of teaching English to speakers of other languages, and cpvers:

  • Lesson planning
  • Teaching techniques
  • Development of learning activities
  • An introduction to the four language skills
  • Preparation & delivery of a 15-minute lesson.
You will be guided through these activities by highly experienced TESOL trainers.

What do my course fees cover?

Your course fees will include tuition and student support. You may need to pay for some study materials relating to your specific course.

How to succeed at studying online

Studying online gives you the flexibility to fit your learning to your lifestyle. To study online successfully, you need to:

  • Get organised by designating a study space free of distractions and set it up so you have all your study tools close to hand.
  • Make sure you put important dates in your diary.
  • Communicate regularly so you don’t feel isolated. Get in touch with your TESOL instructors, and use TESOL College's online student centre.
  • Stay motivated by heading to SEEK Learning's Facebook or Twitter page, checking out our YouTube channel, or visiting our blog Course of action when you’re in need of inspiration or information.
  • Ask for help when you need it. There’s plenty of support out there, from friends and family, to your teachers and student support resources – you just need to ask!
